I want to start a small business distributing leaflets, i have a business name in mind and it is available.
Can i simply register this business name to help me advertise? for example add it to letters and leaflets..
If i do this is there other add ons that are required? like business licenses etc?

Are there legal rules around 2 companies having the same exact business name? We came up with a business name, but after some search, we found a company with identical name, in similar industry but different state. Should I be concerned? Are there any further checks I should perform?

I am starting a business from home where I’ll be catering, making cakes, and other pastries. I want to name my business "peace of cake" with the peace sign as my logo. I googled this business name and there are a few other bakeries with this name but in other states. I also did the trademark search to see if it was a trademarked name, and it says that it’s trademarked by a clothing company in New York. So, could I still use this name for my business name?

How does the process work?

Also, should I register these trademarks under my name or the business name? — I suppose if the answer is ‘business name’, this indicates I register my business first.

I am wanting to start a business that sells girl clothes, accessories, pettiskirts, and also bridal accessories. I’m starting out at flee markets and craft shows but I need a business name for custom orders. Any ideas?

Is there a way to keep my business name reserved if I go out of business? I’m set up as an LLC right now, but I’m thinking about disincorporating and not being in business for now until I can start to make more money. How can I protect my intellectual property in this scenario?
BTW, I live and am incorporated in MO.
