i want to become a party planner. i have helped plan parties and know the aspects of running a business. i have read every book under the sun and even wrote a business plan to try to claryify my point to see if i were ready to do it but thing is that i have three children and only 3k of free money to startup with and im only 21 years old. should i wait and try something esle or should i just hit the ground running?

i was wondering what the best business degree would be for running a business. the business is commercial flooring and has 10-15 employees. I would think it would be a BA in management but then again im not too sure, what in your opinion would be the most useful, i know the degrees can be broad and cover a lot of ground but what one would give me the best tools to employ while trying to run the business? thank you

Im leaning towards no. Sure we can be taught about its practices and all the essentials, but when it comes down to running a business some things just can’t be taught. I believe a business course can be studied in hopes of gaining new improved practices. What do u think?
Im in a Business Administration course right now and this was a discusion that has come up in thr class. Just wondering what others think about it. My question is can it be taught, not should it be taught or wher it should be taught.

My husband and I are looking to take over his families business in a few years and I would like to educate myself more on running a business. Would business management or business administration be a better choice for this?

I have no experience running a business, I have an AA in criminal justice and got halfway through a Bachelors in Psychology. Really nothing that can be used for a business though. I can cook great Mexican food, willing to work hard at a new thing, but what?? What service or business should I try? Any ideas?

I am apprenticing, and was weighing out my options on what I could do when I am able to provide perfect tattoos with no supervision/guidance.. and as a starter wanted to know what the laws are or if even allowed to run a tattoo business out of your house. This of course would be in a section constructed to provide such service.. but what would be the regulations on a location to qualify as appropriate for running a business of this type? Location would be in pennsylvania..and this question is in regard to when I am licensed..of course

I work for a corporation that has one large business and several smaller ones. One of the smaller ones is a small chain (3) cash advance stores. They have too much overhead for just 3 stores due to a corporate office and mismanagement, so they are selling off the business very cheap. A friend and I are interested in purchasing them, because the stores themselves are very profitable and we would be able to retain all loans that are out, and the employees at the stores and a wonderful "regional manager" that manages all 3 stores.

Problem is, we don’t know a lot about running a business like this, and although the company we’d be buying from has said they would help us setup our business structure, we’d obviously like to learn about this stuff independantly. I’m searching the net today for info, and was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction to learn more about running a store in this industry. My partner is spending the same time calling other store owners also.

I recently started my own small business in freelance web-development and custom PC design. (I have one client) I know very little about owning a small business, such as what taxes to file, advertising…etc, I plan to take a course on how to market my own business.

Specifically what else should I know about running this little venture?
I want to know details on how I can max. my profits, keep good records for filing taxes. What to charge for services…etc

Any documentation on running a small business in general would be very helpful. Any documentation on running a business similar to mine would be GREAT!
